Out of eight different samplers we choose for big close ups to show of the detailed darning work . You can really see the fine work and almost feel the cloth.
And being a calendar, let us not forget about the the practical use of it. In Holland these type of calendars are called Birthday calendars. We understood that in the English speaking world the term perpetual is more common.
